Terms and conditions

1. General Use of the Field

1.1 Arrival and Parking

  • When arriving, ensure your vehicle is not obstructing West Hyde Lane.

  • Pull fully off the road before using the PIN access pad for the electric entry gates.

  • Use only the PIN code provided in your booking confirmation email.

  • After entering through the electric gates, park only in the designated parking area on the right, approximately 50 metres along the track.

  • Vehicles are parked on‑site entirely at the owner’s risk. Please do not leave valuables in vehicles.

1.2 Entering and Exiting the Field

  • Do not enter the field until the previous user has fully vacated the area. Keep dogs inside your vehicle until the field is confirmed empty.

  • Keep your dog on a lead at all times from your vehicle to the field and back.

  • Ensure the pedestrian gate is securely closed after entry and upon leaving.

  • You must vacate the field, collect all belongings, and have your dog(s) back in your vehicle before the next booking start time.

1.3 Field Safety

  • The field is enclosed with 2‑metre deer fencing. While designed to reduce escape risk, no fencing system is entirely escape‑proof. Wildlife (including deer, rabbits and game birds) may be present.

  • Inherent risks include uneven ground, holes created by wildlife, slippery/muddy surfaces and natural obstacles.

  • You must scan the field thoroughly before releasing dogs and wear suitable footwear.

  • Running water and a dog bowl are available at the far‑left end of the park, subject to availability.

  • Leaving broken toys behind can pose safety risks to other dogs and can create extra mess around the field. Please remove them on departure.

1.4 Dog Health and Behaviour

  • Do not bring dogs showing sickness (vomiting, diarrhoea, or other symptoms) within the last 48 hours.

  • Owners must supervise and maintain control of their dogs at all times.

  • All dog waste must be picked up immediately and disposed of in the bin provided or taken home.

  • Do not allow dogs to dig holes in the field except in designated digging boxes. Please report any significant holes to us.

  • All rubbish must be removed from the site. No cigarette butts may be discarded anywhere on‑site.

1.5 Respecting Booking Times

  • Late arrival does not entitle you to additional time; bookings end promptly as scheduled.

  • Repeated overstaying times will result in permanent cancellation of future access.

  • Anyone using the field without a valid booking, or breaching the terms, may be refused entry or removed. Unauthorised access may be treated as trespass.

2. Charges, Payment & Cancellation

2.1 Pricing

  • Exclusive hire: £10 per hour per household, up to four dogs (includes time needed to vacate).

  • Additional households: £5 per household, up to a maximum of 6 dogs total.

  • Dog walkers and trainers must contact us for specific pricing.

2.2 Payment

  • Payment must be completed via bank transfer as detailed in your confirmation email.

  • Payment must occur within 24 hours of booking and always before your session begins.

  • Failure to pay automatically revokes permission to use the field. Continued use without permission may be considered trespassing.

2.3 Cancellations

  • Cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice: full payment is still required.

  • Cancelling with more than 24 hours’ notice: your booking fee will be refunded.

3. Disclaimer & Owner Responsibility

3.1 General Responsibility

  • By booking, you agree to supervise and remain responsible for your dog(s) and their behaviour at all times.

  • Ensure any accompanying individuals understand they attend at their own risk, subject to our legal duties.

  • You indemnify Chalfont Dog Park for third‑party claims and property damage caused by your breach of these Terms or by your dog(s). This indemnity does not limit any non‑excludable consumer rights or our liability where we are legally responsible.

3.2 Agility Equipment

  • All agility equipment is used entirely at the owner’s or handler’s risk.

  • You must ensure your dog is physically capable and adequately trained.

  • Chalfont Dog Park accepts no liability for injuries or damage resulting from equipment use.

  • Please use all equipment responsibly and respectfully.

4. Dangerous Dogs & Restricted Types (England & Wales)

  • If you bring a dog that is legally defined as a “dangerous dog” or of a type prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (currently including Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro and XL Bully), you confirm that the dog is lawfully exempt (on the Index of Exempted Dogs) and that you will produce the Certificate of Exemption on request.

  • You also confirm compliance with all legal conditions, including microchipping, neutering (where applicable), third‑party liability insurance, and that the dog is muzzled and on a lead from your vehicle to the field and back.

  • In public places, the lead must be securely held by someone at least 16 years old.

  • We may refuse entry or terminate a session where legal compliance is not evidenced or if safety is compromised.

5. Liability

  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

  • Subject to the above:

• We are not liable for: (a) losses we could not reasonably foresee when the booking was made; (b) business losses (including loss of profit, revenue, contracts, data or goodwill) where you use the field in the course of a business; and (c) losses arising from your breach of these Terms.

• For consumer bookings, our liability for other loss or damage arising from our negligence or breach is limited to the greater of £250 or 3× the total price paid for that booking.

• Vehicles and personal property are left at your own risk.

  • These Terms apply only to the extent permitted by law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977). Making a booking confirms your acceptance of these Terms.

6. Compliance & Enforcement

  • All users must comply with these Terms, on‑site signage and any reasonable instruction from staff.

  • We may refuse entry, terminate a session or suspend future access (with no refund) where safety is compromised or rules are breached.

  • Incidents (injury, aggression, escape, damage or near‑miss) must be reported immediately so we can act (including temporary closures if needed).

  • We will cooperate with police/local authority where required.
